Francisca Mada, Dementia UK
Strengths I bring:
- Compassion – I bring deep empathy and understanding to complex, emotional situations, supporting both patients and families.
- Clarity – I translate complexity into clear, actionable insight—helping others make informed decisions with confidence.
- Advocacy –I stand up for those who may not be able to, ensuring their needs, dignity, and voice are always prioritised.
What I would like the network to achieve: I would like to strengthen my leadership impact, broaden my strategic influence, and gain practical tools to drive meaningful improvements in dementia care and support.
I have experience of dementia professionally through many years of supporting people with dementia and their families as well as personally through my mother who had vascular dementia. I consider myself an advocate for all those living with dementia and my specialist area is young onset dementia, when symptoms occur when someone is below 65 years.
Dementia UK is a charity that is here for the whole family. Their nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia. https://www.dementiauk.org/
