Dr Eithne Heffernan, Loughborough University (UK) & Dementia Carers Campaign Network (Ireland)

Strengths I bring: Inclusive and empowering research methods, intersection of lived and professional experience.

What I would like the network to achieve: My goal is to collaborate with diverse partners to make meaningful improvements to the lives of people living with dementia and their loved ones, particularly those from under-served communities.

I am a Lecturer is Psychology with a range of research interests, including co-morbid dementia and hearing loss, dementia and under-served communities, co-design, and outcome measurement. I am a member of the INTERDEM Academy Management Board, which supports early career dementia researchers across Europe. My lived experience of being a dementia caregiver led me to becoming a dementia awareness advocate with the Irish Dementia Carers Campaign Network.
